Frequently Asked Questions

You can plan your first dinner party about 4-6 weeks after the work begins. The process usually goes like this: demolition, plumbing and electric, followed by drywall repair, painting, and flooring. After the room is prepared, the installation of your new kitchen can begin. Cabinets are carefully set, leveled and plumb to insure proper fit. The countertops are templated, and adjustments made to accommodate unusual job site conditions, such as a wall out of square. Soon after, your countertops, sink, faucet, and appliances are installed. Any tile backsplash is next. Finally, items like door and drawer adjustments, hardware, and moldings are installed. To close out the installation, Russ will walk through the completed project with you to ensure that you are satisfied with the outcome.
Kitchen remodeling costs can vary greatly. However, our experience leads us to use this rule of thumb: calculate 15% of your home’s value when estimating the project. The materials chosen and the complexity of the job can increase or decrease costs. We have found that better materials, such as cabinets or countertops, will change the overall cost of the project only slightly, yet improve durability to last longer. Call us today at 856-858-2100 to schedule an appointment to visit our expansive showroom of creative kitchen designs. We’re located within IDEAL Tile at 1316 Route 73, Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, 08054.
First, empty your cabinets. Consider disposing of things you haven’t used in a while. We usually need a little space to stage things like cabinets and other materials that arrive in boxes. Take some time to set up a mini-kitchen in another area of the home. Your old refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker can make a convenient snack bar while your kitchen is being remodeled.
Unfortunately, refacing is a costly endeavor. In our experience, refacing costs are about 70% of a new cabinet price. When you go with a complete remodel, you have new products that are durable for years to come. Additionally, refacing prevents layout improvements, such as better corner access and improved workflow. Over the years, many customers have found refacing to be a poor investment, resulting in the need to re-invest in the kitchen once again.

Let's dispel one myth when it comes to kitchens: large home centers are NOT less expensive than a smaller company. At Tuscan Sun Kitchens, we offer decades of design & construction experience in addition to local owner-involved service which is not typically available at larger companies. Our goal is to add you to our growing list of delighted customers who will also refer us to family & friends. As you entertain, we want you to feel comfortable sharing that you love your custom Tuscan Sun Kitchen!
We would prefer that you use one of our experienced teams who are familiar with the intricate process of kitchen remodeling, however, you may use a contractor of your choice. We can provide you with a kitchen design plan and list of materials. Please remember that the elements of installing a kitchen are complicated as discussed above. Make sure your contractor fully understands the scope of work defined in the design plan and can translate it into a fully-completed kitchen on time and on budget. Additional considerations include: the time necessary for you to supervise the project, be familiar and in compliance with local renovation codes, and the process while juggling your day-to-day duties. Many of our clients recognize their busy life demands this supervisory role be managed by Russ and Tuscan Sun Kitchens.
